Recently, CPFL Philosophical Café, a partnership between the CPFL Institute and TV Cultura, welcomed journalist Claudia Trevisan and professor Yili Wang for the lecture “The rise of China and its impact on the world.” The meeting was held in person at the CPFL Institute headquarters in Campinas, with live streaming on YouTube.
The CPFL Philosophical Café lecture addressed the reforms launched in China in 1978, which paved the way for globalization and the private sector.
The guests also discussed how China structured its hybrid model, which combines industrial policies for strategic sectors, long-term state planning, and stimulation of technological innovation. The milestones of the four phases of reforms (1978-2025) will be presented, as well as the country's recent emergence as a powerhouse in areas related to energy transition, with global leadership in solar and wind energy, electric vehicles, and batteries.
