BYD's growth has been remarkable, with the brand gradually investing in Europe and, in particular, Portugal. Its success is reflected in the figures: with a market share of 9.8%, BYD achieved first place in monthly sales of 100% electric light vehicles in Portugal in May.

Adding the sales figures for electric vehicles (EV) and plug-in hybrids (PHEV), BYD ended May with 574 cars sold, which corresponds to the monthly top 3.

“BYD is still a new brand in the Portuguese market, and we are delighted to have achieved first place in sales of 100% electric vehicles in Portugal in May. This is a milestone that makes us proud, as a brand that arrived in Portugal only two years ago, and demonstrates the added value and quality of the range, which has already been reinforced this year,” said Pedro Cordeiro, head of operations at BYD Portugal.
