After the meeting between the Sports Ministers of the BRICS countries, representatives from China participated on June 4 in a bilateral meeting with Brazil's Ministry of Sport. The aim of the meeting was to strengthen sports exchange between the nations and discuss possible partnerships and cooperation.

During the meeting, Minister André Fufuca expressed interest in deepening sports relations with China. He highlighted the Brazilian project to create a sports university, initially focused on football, with courses for physical trainers, coaches, and referees. “President Lula asked us to expand this initiative; we are working on it, including studying international references. China can be that model, mainly due to the similarity in population and territorial size with Brazil,” he added.

The Director of General Administration of Sport of China, ,Mr. Gao Zhidan, responded positively to sharing experiences and indicated that the country’s universities will contact Brazilian authorities to detail training and sports support programs.
