On May 8, 2025, the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce and Banco Angolano de Investimentos (BAI) signed a partnership protocol aimed at strengthening trade relations between Angola and the People's Republic of China by carrying out the first Business Census of the Chinese private sector in Angola.
The President of the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce, Luís Cupenala, said that "this business census will make it possible to find out the real impact of Chinese companies on the Angolan economy, as well as establishing a solid base of information to foster sustainable partnerships.
BAI Executive Director Inokcelina de Carvalho said that "this protocol reflects our commitment to supporting the growth of the business sector and deepening our relationship with strategic investment communities in Angola. By getting to know the Chinese economic presence in the country better, we can design more effective solutions, promote financial inclusion and strengthen the business environment.
The agreement can contribute to the development of economic and trade relations between China and Angola, and the two sides will work together to provide stronger support for the development of Chinese companies in Angola.
