The arrival of Chinese machines for family farming in Brazil should help build technological sovereignty and transfer technology to Brazilian territories. This is what Diego Moreira, from the national directorate of the MST's production sector, hopes for. The leader participated in the seminar "Digital Family and Peasant Agriculture in Brazil-China Cooperation," which took place on May 9 during the 5th National Agrarian Reform Fair.

"We want to understand digital sovereignty," said Moreira. He clarified that the purpose of the machines' arrival is not to establish a new import line or to rival the domestic industry. "We aim to transfer technology so that Brazil can build industry, build technological sovereignty, and be able to build its own machines, adapted to the regions and biomes of Brazilian territories", he said.

"We need to socialize what we have learned on the path of Brazil-China cooperation, which are important partnerships for agriculture and for the MST," he added.
