Brazil's Minister of Labor and Employment, Luiz Marinho, met with China's Minister of Human Resources and Social Security, Wang Xiaoping, on April 24 in Brasilia (DF). The aim of the meeting was to strengthen the partnership between the two countries in order to expand cooperation in the areas of employment, social security and the regulation of new technologies at work.

One of the main topics discussed at the meeting was the impact of artificial intelligence on the labor market. Luiz Marinho stressed that technological advances should benefit society as a whole. "Everything depends on the governance we build. Artificial intelligence needs to be humanity's heritage, not that of a few corporations," he said.

Wang spoke about the recent reforms implemented by China to adapt labor legislation to the new models of production and employment.

Luiz Marinho reaffirmed the Brazilian government's interest in strengthening ties with China and expanding technical cooperation in areas such as valuing work, productive inclusion and sustainable development.
