Cabo Verde’s Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, Eveline Ramos, is on an official mission to China until 13 November to strengthen bilateral co-operation in agriculture, the marine economy and sustainable development.
According to a government statement, the visit forms part of the minister’s participation in the “Seminar on Green Economy Development for Cabo Verde” and will include a series of working visits and institutional meetings.
On 7 and 8 November, Ramos is scheduled to visit the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute, part of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, in Qingdao, Shandong Province.
On 9 November, she is scheduled to hold a bilateral working meeting with China’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Zhang Zhu.
The mission forms part of the Cabo Verdean Government’s efforts to mobilise strategic international partnerships to modernise the country’s agri-food systems and make them more resilient.
The visit also aims to advance projects focused on food and nutrition security, while promoting the integrated development of the archipelago’s land and marine resources.
