Brazil recently took part in the China Fisheries & Seafood Expo 2026, in Qingdao, with eight exhibiting companies at the Brazil Pavilion. The initiative brought together representatives of the productive sector and of the Government to promote Brazilian seafood, contact importers and identify commercial opportunities in the Asian market.
The 29th edition of the fair brought together more than 1,600 companies from over 50 countries and regions. The event put producers, industries, distributors and buyers in contact, allowing Brazilian companies to access different segments of the international seafood trade.
The participation took place as part of the Brazil Natural Seafood project, developed by the Brazilian Association of Fish Industries (Abipesca), in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). At its third participation in the fair, the project presented the diversity of national production and facilitated contacts with potential commercial partners.
The Qingdao presence also allowed the delegation to follow trends in consumption, processing and distribution and to broaden the dialogue with different players in the sector. The effort forms part of Brazil's strategy to diversify markets and strengthen the international presence of its products, with the support of the agricultural attaché network, which maintains contacts with authorities and representatives of foreign markets and monitors the access conditions for Brazilian agricultural products.
