The Government of Cape Verde renewed on May 22 the cooperation protocol with China to continue to send Chinese medical missions to the archipelago.

On May 21, a delegation of Chinese authorities and businesspeople from the Asian country participated in the II Bahia-China Forum in Salvador. The cooperation event for studies, projects and business was promoted by the State Government, through the Superintendency of Economic and Social Studies (SEI).

A Chinese delegation from the Shandong Macroeconomic Research Academy visited Companhia das Docas do Estado da Bahia (CODEBA) on the afternoon of May 20, where they could learn about the Federal Port Authority and the potential of the Ports of Salvador, Aratu-Candeias and Ilhéus. The visit is part of the beginning of the agenda, which marks the celebrations of the Brazil-China relationship in Bahia.

The repair and expansion project for the Luassim Hydroelectric Power Station was completed in the city of Dundo, Ronda Norte province, in Angola, according to the financier, China Gezhouba Group Company Ltd., a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Cooperation.

Present Brazilian coffee sustainability projects, export data, position in the global market, and strengthen the country's representation in China. These were the objectives of the participation of the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé), in partnership with the Brazilian Embassy in Beijing and the Consulate General of Brazil in Shanghai, in the China Kunshan International Fair for Coffee Industry 2024 (COFAIR 2024), held on May 16 to 19.

São Tomé and Príncipe will be at the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in the Chinese capital Beijing in the second half of this year, as announced on May 16 by the ambassador of the People's Republic of China, Xu Yingzhen. The diplomat announced the invitation during “The China/São Tomé and Príncipe Bilateral Seminar” held at the Palácio dos Congressos.

The donation ceremony for Chinese companies to Rio Grande do Sul was held on May 17 with the participation of the state government, the Chinese Consulate General and the Brazilian Association of Chinese Companies (Abec). Stella Li, Executive Vice President of BYD and CEO of BYD Americas, said on May 15 that the Shark pickup truck will be one of the models that the Chinese manufacturer will assemble at its plant in Camaçari (BA). Temu, which operates Pinduoduo's international e-commerce and is China's third largest digital services platform, is seeking certification from the Federal Revenue Service to join the Remessa Conforme program. This program allows companies to import goods worth up to US$50 without incurring the 60% import tax, as well as facilitating customs clearance.
