In the heart of the Amazon rainforest, the capital Manaus is establishing itself as one of the greatest examples of integration between industrial technology and environmental preservation. The Free Economic Zone of Manaus created in 1967, achieved its highest revenue in history in 2024—a milestone driven largely by the presence of Chinese companies that are reinforcing the region's sustainable development with innovation and direct investment.

One of these companies is the Chinese giant Gree, whose factory operates with six assembly lines and a production capacity of two million air conditioners per year. The company, which arrived in Brazil in the 1990s, stands out not only for its production scale but also for its environmental commitment: all products use eco-friendly refrigerant gas with zero impact on the ozone layer.

Cooperation between Brazil and China in the Free Economic Zone of Manaus represents more than just good business: it is a commitment to industry as an ally of the forest. “We want to continue to expand this partnership, bring more technology from China, and generate quality jobs for the region. The future of the Amazon lies in innovation and sustainable industry,” concludes Bosco Saraiva, superintendent of the Free Trade Zone.
