The municipality of Sorriso, Brazil, recently welcomed a delegation from the Brazil-China Chamber of Commerce. During the visit, representatives learned about the local potential and the main demands of the city and region, paving the way for new international partnerships.
Mayor Alei Fernandes signed a letter of intent to create a Chamber of Direct Relations between Sorriso and China, strengthening economic, educational, and technological exchanges between the two countries.
At the same time, the mayor also formalized a letter of interest in joining a project by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (Avic), a Chinese state-owned company, which plans to set up a large educational technology center in the municipality.
“These two days of technical visits, institutional meetings, and learning about Sorriso's potential have made China increasingly interested in strengthening these commercial relations,” said Walfredo Dantas, director of institutional relations at the Chamber.
