Theatrical groups from Mozambique, Portugal, East Timor, São Tomé and Príncipe and Macao will take part in the Portuguese-speaking Countries’ Theatre Festival from October 14 to 19 at the Dom Pedro V Theatre as part of the 9th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.

Artisans from China, Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and Timor-Leste have been invited to take part in the 9th Handicraft Fair of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, which takes place at Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Centre between 11am and 7pm from October 14 to 18.

The Portuguese-speaking Countries’ gastronomic festival “World of Flavours” was held from October 14 to 18, in Tromba Rija restaurant at Macao Tower. Chefs from Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, Goa and Macau took part in the event, as part of the 9th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.

As part of the 9th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, the exhibition “Painting, Transparency and Illusion”, from Macau artist Filipe Dores, opened to the public on October 14 and runs until November 12, at the Gallery in the Residence of the Portuguese Consulate.

Due to the arrival of a typhoon, the signal number 8 was hoisted in Hong Kong at 9am and in Macao at 10am. As a result, the Hong Kong airport has been temporarily closed, as well as the ferry terminals in Hong Kong and at the airport. All ferry services have been temporarily suspended.

Given the proximity of a typhoon to Macao and the fact that the signal number 8 was raised at 10am, several activities of the Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries scheduled for today have been cancelled. Those activities include the handicraft and art fair, the World of Flavours’ from Portuguese-speaking Countries, theatre shows and art exhibitions.
