The governor of Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema, left on June 15 for an official mission to China. The ten-day trip focuses on attracting private investments and developing solutions for the Belo Horizonte subway.

Also participating in the delegation are secretaries, the state coordinator of Civil Defense, the president of the Federation of Industries of the State of Minas Gerais (FIEMG), and deputies.

The delegation will have a meeting at the Ministry of Commerce in China on the first day of visit. Zema will also visit the Chinese Silicon Valley and the newest factory of China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC), a company that manufactures high-speed trains. This company is responsible for producing the new subway cars for Belo Horizonte.

In November 2023, the governor spent 15 days in China and Japan on an official mission. During that trip, six new agreements were signed with companies. At the time, the Minas government announced R$ 1 billion in investments in Brazil through these companies, resulting in 2,000 new jobs.
