The 2026 Brazil-China International Forum on Solar Photovoltaic Energy and Energy Storage will be held on 24 August in São Paulo. The event will bring together representatives from the two countries’ energy sectors to analyse the market for battery energy storage systems (BESS), the outlook for the photovoltaic sector and investment and financing opportunities.

The programme will include discussions on technical standards, new technologies, the Capacity Reserve Auction in the form of Power (LRCAP), commercial and industrial energy-storage applications, and the integration of solar energy, batteries and charging infrastructure. The aim is to share experience from Brazil and China and promote bilateral co-operation in these areas.

China has an extensive industrial supply chain linked to these technologies. In Brazil, the expansion of photovoltaic generation and the regulatory debate surrounding energy storage are creating opportunities for new battery applications in the electricity system.

The event will also feature panels on the residential solar energy market, hybrid systems and the challenges of investing in energy storage for commercial and industrial applications. Discussions will also cover leasing and finance-lease models for BESS, technologies for the photovoltaic sector, and energy co-operation between Brazil and China.
