Chinese Ambassador to Guinea-Bissau meets new Mayor of Bissau

China’s Ambassador to Guinea-Bissau, Yang Renhuo, met Umaro Baldé, the new Mayor of Bissau, last week.

 

Ambassador Yang congratulated Baldé on taking office and commended the work of the Bissau Municipal Council in promoting local-level co-operation between China and Guinea-Bissau, as well as in safeguarding the well-being of Chinese institutions and citizens in Bissau. He said that the Chinese Embassy was ready to continue the long-standing tradition of co-operation with the Municipal Council, further deepen friendly exchanges and fully support Bissau’s urban development.

 

Mayor Baldé expressed his sincere gratitude for the assistance and support provided by the Chinese Embassy. He expressed his readiness to strengthen exchanges and co-operation with China in areas such as urban management, sanitation and public cleanliness, jointly build a cleaner and more liveable Bissau, and take friendly local-level co-operation between the two countries to a new level.
