Three Mozambican students won third place at the Global Final of the Huawei ICT Competition 2025–2026, held in Shenzhen, China, becoming the first representatives of Mozambique to reach the podium at this prestigious international Information and Communications Technology (ICT) competition.

The team stood out among thousands of contestants from various countries, securing the bronze medal in a competition organised by Huawei to assess technical skills in highly specialised areas of technology.

Their journey to the final began in October 2025 and lasted eight months, covering preliminary, national and regional rounds. After successfully passing all qualification stages, the team became the only Mozambican representative to reach the final stage.

The competition was held recently in Shenzhen, where Huawei is headquartered, and lasted nine hours. Contestants were assessed in areas such as cloud solution architecture, artificial intelligence and cloud computing.

The result marks a milestone for Mozambique in the ICT sector and demonstrates the growing level of qualification of young Mozambicans in cutting-edge technology sectors.
