The Minister of State and Head of the Civil House of the President of the Republic, Dionísio da Fonseca, began a working visit to Beijing, China, on Monday, during which he visited several important bodies and services of the Chinese public administration.
According to a press release, the official's trip to the Asian country follows an invitation from the Chinese Government, aiming to strengthen relations in the areas of administrative modernisation, digital transformation and cadre training.
The work programme highlights visits to the Beijing Administrative Service Centre, the China International Development Co-operation Agency, the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, as well as the Huawei Technology Park, the city of Shanghai and the China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong (CELAP).
Angola and China maintain historical and strategic relations based on the annals of their struggle, characterised by the similarities that both peoples and countries played out in pursuit of their liberation. Political-diplomatic relations between the two states reached a landmark moment in 1983, the year in which the Chinese Government recognised the Republic of Angola.
