The Portugal China Green Maritime Fuels & Decarbonization Forum 2026, which took place on 1 and 2 June in Oeiras, brings together policymakers, companies, investors, port sector representatives, scientific entities and diplomats for meetings dedicated to maritime decarbonisation, green fuels, bluetech innovation and blue economy investment.
Among the main topics highlighted was the development of the "Atlantic – Malacca – Greater Bay Area" green corridor, with connections to Hong Kong, Singapore and Macao, positioning Portugal as the Atlantic gateway to Europe. The programme includes debates on hydrogen, green ammonia, green methanol, e-fuels, port infrastructure, certification, financing and the European regulatory framework.
The initiative, organised by Fórum Oceano, the Oeiras City Council and the Oeiras Valley Investment Agency, aims to establish Portugal as a reference point in the new blue economy, reinforcing its competitiveness, technological sovereignty and role in the global energy transition.
