The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) has launched a new study on China, Brazil's main trading partner and one of the most strategic markets in the world. The report "China Trade and Investment Profile" presents an updated analysis of bilateral economic relations, identifying opportunities for exports, investment and the diversification of Brazil's presence in the Chinese market.

According to the study, Brazilian exports to China remain heavily concentrated in raw materials. In 2025, soya beans, crude oil and iron ore together accounted for 74.2% of Brazilian sales to the Chinese market. Products such as beef, pulp, sugar, molasses, cotton and poultry also continue to hold significant weight in the export basket.

At the same time, the study points to room for expansion and diversification of Brazil's presence in the Asian country. ApexBrasil's so-called "Opportunities Map" has identified 187 opportunities for entry and consolidation of Brazilian products in the Chinese market, covering both traditional sectors and higher value-added segments, notably machinery and equipment, pharmaceutical products, aircraft, chemical products and manufactured goods. The study also refers to opportunities in specific niches, such as sesame seeds, peanuts, essential oils and certain minerals, which are considered promising for Brazilian companies interested in expanding operations in China.
