The exhibition " Silk Connects Mountains to Seas: From China to Brazil", organised by the Immigration Museum in São Paulo, has been selected as a finalist for the 23rd National Museum Award of China, considered the most important accolade in the Chinese museology sector.

The Immigration Museum is the sole Brazilian representative among the 38 finalists in the competition. The list of ten winning exhibitions will be announced on 18 May, on the occasion of International Museum Day.

Promoted by the National Cultural Heritage Administration of China (NCHA), the award distinguishes projects of excellence in the areas of curation, design and social impact. The Immigration Museum is competing in the "outgoing exhibitions" category, alongside exhibitions presented in countries such as France, Russia and Egypt.

The exhibition, which runs until March 2026, is the result of an unprecedented partnership with the China National Silk Museum, located in Hangzhou. Bringing together more than 100 historical and archaeological pieces, the exhibition reveals the historical connections between China and Brazil through the maritime silk routes.
