A delegation from the Brazilian Mathematics Teachers' Olympiad (OPMbr) is in China from 4 to 15 May 2026, as part of an educational and cultural mission. The group is composed of teachers honoured in the second edition of the OPMBr, dedicated to secondary school teachers recognised for their pedagogical excellence and contribution to strengthening education in Brazil. The trip is part of the prizes awarded by the competition.

During their stay in China, participants will have access to a programme focused on the exchange of pedagogical, technological and academic experiences. The agenda includes observing lessons taught by Chinese teachers, collaborative lesson planning, visits to educational institutions, innovation centres and universities, as well as cultural activities.

The mission represents recognition of the work carried out by the award-winning teachers in mathematics education and aims to provide new perspectives that can contribute to pedagogical practice in the classroom. Brazil's Ministry of Education also intends to gather good practices in the implementation of educational policies, particularly in the areas of teacher training and curriculum organisation provided for in the National Commitment to All Mathematics programme.
