The Angolan state will resort to financing from the Bank of China, with coverage from the Chinese Export Credit Insurance Agency (Sinosure), in a total amount of approximately $63.8 million US dollars, to strengthen the Digital Education project, a local magazine has learned.
According to Presidential Decree No. 138/26, of 17 April, the financing is intended to cover 85% of the value of the commercial contract and 85% of the Sinosure insurance premium, ensuring the realisation of the Digital Education programme.
The project aims to modernise information technologies and promote digital literacy among students, reinforcing the Executive's commitment to human development and the improvement of the Angolan education system.
The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, delegated to the Minister of Finance, Vera Daves de Sousa, the authority to sign the aforementioned financing agreement and all related documentation, in the name and on behalf of the Republic of Angola.
