The state of São Paulo recently brought together in Campinas government representatives, companies and experts from Brazil and China to discuss the expansion of data centres in the country, with an emphasis on infrastructure, energy and bilateral co-operation.
The meeting, organised by CPFL Energia, included representatives from the three levels of government, businesspeople, diplomats and Chinese companies, reflecting the growing interest in Brazil's digital infrastructure, driven by demand for data processing and storage solutions.
During the event, the President of CPFL Energia, Sun Peng, stated that the company will unveil its strategy for the sector. According to the executive, the company intends to provide integrated energy solutions covering the entire life cycle of data centres.
The Mayor of Campinas, Dario Saad, stated that the municipality is seeking to attract investment and consolidate its position as a technology and infrastructure hub, benefiting from logistical and industrial assets that support this strategy.
As a result of the meeting, participants formalised a joint agenda that provides for the integration of electrical and digital infrastructures, the encouragement of renewable energy use, and the strengthening of technological exchange.
