At the invitation of President Xi Jinping, President Daniel Chapo of Mozambique has recently arrived in Hunan Province, commencing his first official visit to China since taking office. Over the course of his three-day visit, he toured several advanced manufacturing enterprises, Xianing Port, and a landmark site of the Chinese revolution, seeking to identify new avenues for co-operation between the two nations.
During the Mozambique-China Business Forum held in Changsha on the second day of the Hunan visit, the Hunan Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique established friendly co-operative relations, with several strategic framework agreements signed in sectors including green energy and biopharmaceuticals.
During his stay, President Chapo also visited a number of Chinese companies based in Changsha, among them Wasion Holdings, Zoomlion, and Yihai Kerry. The President praised the advanced level of solutions developed by these firms in the fields of electric power management and agricultural product processing, and invited their principals to visit Mozambique to explore investment opportunities.
