The Kaminho Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit, currently under construction in China, is expected to produce approximately 200 million barrels of oil over its operational lifespan, equivalent to around 75,000 barrels per day, according to data from the National Agency for Oil, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG).
The data were presented by ANPG executive Ana Miala during a recent visit to the China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI) shipyard in the city of Nantong, led by the Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo.
Ana Miala further stated that the project represents "the realisation of a new oil province in Angola", which is expected to strengthen investor confidence in the Kwanza Basin and contribute to the strengthening of the national economy through increased state revenues.
The Kaminho unit is the first development in the new Kwanza Basin, integrating two fields: Cameia, with estimated reserves of 231 million barrels, and Golfinho, with 141 million barrels.
