Thirteen exhibitors from Portugal will take part in the 14th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo, which takes place from 10 to 12 April, the organisers announced last week.

"This year's edition of the fair will further strengthen co-operation with Portuguese-speaking countries and make full use of Macao's role as a bridging link," said the Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, during the press conference announcing the event.

Speaking to Lusa after the press conference, the MGTO confirmed that 13 exhibitors from Portugal, organised by the Portuguese Association of Travel Agencies and Tourism (APAVT), will be present at the fair.

"We continue our partnership this year with APAVT and Turismo de Portugal. They will hold promotional events during this period and, of course, will also meet with other buyers," said Senna Fernandes.

The three-day event, held under the theme "Global Convergence, Future Horizons", includes more than 130 activities, including tourism promotion sessions, sector forums, workshops and performances. The sectors represented range from hospitality and tourist attractions to transport, as well as cultural and creative industries.
