President Lula Visits Caoa Factory in Anápolis and Celebrates Partnership with Chinese Automaker Changan

The President of Brazil, Lula da Silva, recently visited the Caoa industrial plant in Anápolis, in the state of Goiás. Caoa is one of Brazil’s largest automotive groups. During the visit, he oversaw the resumption of factory operations and the launch of a new model produced in partnership with the Chinese automaker Changan. The event marked Lula’s symbolic return to the industrial environment, with an emphasis on reindustrialisation and the strengthening of Brazil’s automotive sector.


On the occasion, the President highlighted the partnership with the Chinese manufacturer: “They have formed a partnership with our colleagues from Changan, in China, who are bringing extraordinary technology here – a beautiful car.” Lula also described the vehicle quality inspection process, stressing the rigour of the final checks before the finishing stage.


Throughout the visit, Lula noted the favourable moment for the Brazilian economy, particularly in the automotive sector. According to data presented during the event, investments totalling 190 billion reais are planned by 2033, of which 140 billion reais will come from automakers and 50 billion reais from the components sector.
