On 20 March, the Madeira Chemistry Centre (CQM) organised a seminar dedicated to scientific research within the framework of the China-Portugal Joint Laboratory for Innovative Nanomedicine, at the University of Madeira’s Penteada Campus.
The China-Portugal Joint Laboratory on Innovative Nanomedicine is a partnership between the University of Madeira, through the CQM, and Donghua University (DHU), with the aim of strengthening scientific co-operation in the field of nanomedicine, which has been established over the last few decades.
The event served as a public launch for the laboratory and was attended by visiting researchers from DHU, who presented and discussed the latest advances in the field of nanomaterials and their applications in biomedicine, as well as by CQM researchers associated with the laboratory.
This unique joint laboratory between China and Portugal aims, in addition to research and technological development, to share human resources and provide training in nanomedicine, with a view to extending its activities to other regions of Portugal and southern China, notably the Greater Bay Area (Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao), a hub of innovation, technology and global trade with over 80 million inhabitants.
