Portuguese higher education strengthens cooperation ties in Macao

Representatives from higher education institutions in Portugal and Macao met at the Consulate-General of Portugal in Macao with the aim of strengthening dialogue, deepening academic cooperation relations and exploring new opportunities for international collaboration.


The session began with presentations by representatives of Portuguese institutions, who introduced their institutions, highlighting strategic areas of activity and potential areas for international cooperation. Representatives of Macao institutions then had the opportunity to present their institutions and identify areas of common interest. The meeting continued with a period dedicated to informal bilateral talks.


The Consul-General of Portugal in Macao, Alexandre Leitão, joined the meeting, emphasising the importance of strengthening academic and institutional relations between Portugal and Macao and highlighting the role of higher education institutions as key agents of cooperation, scientific diplomacy and rapprochement between the two territories.
