On 19 January, the Prime Minister of Equatorial Guinea, Manuel Osa Nsue, received the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, Wang Wengang, in an audience dedicated to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding Chinese investment in the country. During the meeting, both highlighted the historic friendship between the two states and the importance of deepening strategic co-operation in multiple sectors of the economy.

Osa Nsue stressed that China is a key partner for the development of Equatorial Guinea, with particular emphasis on support for agricultural projects, namely in the production of cocoa and coffee, with targets of 20,000 tonnes per year, and for the development of the Dumasi project, focused on the production of rice and animal feed.

For his part, Ambassador Wang Wengang reiterated Beijing's commitment to supporting these programmes and congratulated the Equatorial Guinean Executive on the economic diversification measures implemented in 2025.

Both leaders reinforced their intention to promote investment in new productive sectors and boost exports of national products to the Chinese market, benefiting from the ‘zero tariffs’ project launched by the Chinese Government.
