Recently, Brazil's ambassador to China, Marcos Bezerra Abbott Galvão, received the 2025 Legislative Merit Medal in Natal, the highest honor awarded by the Legislative Branch of Rio Grande do Norte. The award recognizes the diplomat's work in promoting and strengthening relations between Brazil and China, as well as in defending strategic agendas with a direct impact on regional development.

The honor was presented by state representative Kleber Rodrigues and symbolizes institutional recognition of the ambassador's work in expanding bilateral dialogue, attracting opportunities for international cooperation, and encouraging partnerships that can contribute to the state's economic growth.

Reference was also made to the rapprochement agenda that began in October, when Ambassador Marcos Galvão received an official mission led by Kleber Rodrigues in Beijing. The meeting was also attended by SEDEC Deputy Secretary Hugo Fonseca, who joined the institutional negotiations, strengthening the ambassador's role as a strategic link between Brazil, China, and regional development.
