Recently, Cape Verde's ambassador to the People's Republic of China, Arlindo do Rosário, received the Personality of the Year award from the Chinese National and International Press Agency in recognition of his work in strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

According to the promoting entity, the distinction highlights the diplomat's performance in the field of diplomacy and his “consistent efforts to bring Cape Verde and China closer together, foster friendship, and strengthen bilateral cooperation” throughout his term.

Arlindo do Rosário has served as ambassador since December 2022, representing Cape Verde to the Chinese authorities in a context of deepening political, economic, and institutional relations between the two states.

A native of Santo Antão, the diplomat has a background linked to Cape Verdean public life. Before taking up his diplomatic mission in Beijing, he served as Minister of Health, a position he held from 2016.
