Recently, professors Caetano Galindo and Sandra Stroparo, from the Federal University of Paraná, were in Beijing and Tianjin for a series of lectures and academic activities at important educational institutions in China.

Author of Latim em Pó (Latin in Powder) and translator of fundamental works such as James Joyce's Ulysses, Caetano Galindo gave a lecture entitled “Brazilian Portuguese: colonialism, identity, globalization,” in which he presented Chinese students with a broad reflection on the historical and cultural formation of the Portuguese language in Brazil.

Professor, researcher, and translator Sandra Stroparo gave lectures on Modernism, Concrete Poetry, and 21st-Century Poetry.

During their stay in Beijing, the professors were received at the Embassy by Ambassador Marcos Galvão. The visit demonstrated the growing interest of Chinese universities in the Brazilian variant of the Portuguese language and Brazilian literature, promoting academic and cultural dialogue between students, researchers, and teachers from both countries.
