Sudene promotes the Northeast as a hub for green industrialization at the III Bahia-China Forum

During the III Bahia-China Forum, the Superintendence for the Development of the Northeast (Sudene) presented the region as a strategic destination for foreign investment, especially from China, with a focus on green reindustrialization and energy transition. 


During his participation in the panel “Development Strategies in Brazil and China: Economic Growth, Poverty Alleviation, and Sustainable Industrialization,” Sudene Superintendent Francisco Alexandre presented the agency's strategy for promoting sustainable development in its area of operation, seeking to reduce regional inequalities and improve the population's quality of life. 


During the event, China's ambassador to Brazil, Zhu Qingqiao, spoke about relations between the two countries and emphasized relations with Bahia. According to China's consul general in Rio de Janeiro, Tian Min, Chinese modernization has a promising future and will generate opportunities for Brazil. She cited some areas that will receive attention in the relationship between the two countries. The first is the strengthening of the exchange of development experiences, especially in the fight against poverty.
