Recently, the presidents of Brazilian trade union confederations CUT, Força Sindical and UGT, Sérgio Nobre, Miguel Torres and Ricardo Patah, met with the Chinese ambassador to Brazil, Zhu Qingqiao, in Brasília. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and strategic cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, union leaders and embassy representatives discussed issues of global relevance, such as economic transformations, the challenges of international trade and the impact of these changes on the labour market. The trade unionists advocated for public policies that ensure decent jobs, social protection and the valorisation of Brazilian workers.

The unions emphasised the importance of China as one of Brazil's main trading partners, highlighting that continuous dialogue is essential to promote balanced growth, with respect for labour rights and national standards.
