Agricultural cooperation between China and Mozambique is strengthening local capacity for animal disease prevention and control through technical exchanges, laboratory modernization, and professional training.

With the support of Chinese experts, local technicians have received training in diagnosis, parasite control, and vaccination, which has significantly improved herd health. “Now we know how to collect, test, and solve problems on our own,” said Matilde, director of the Chobela Zootechnical Station at the Mozambique Agricultural Research Institute.

The partnership also supported the improvement of laboratories by donating diagnostic kits, rapid tests, and supplies, as well as guiding local technicians in performing procedures, allowing tests to be carried out independently.

With these advances, Mozambique has strengthened its animal health defense system, empowering local professionals to independently protect the health and safety of livestock.
