Angolan President João Lourenço receives Huawei delegation

Angolan President João Lourenço recently received a delegation from the multinational technology company Huawei in Luanda.


Speaking to the press, Huawei's general manager for Portuguese-speaking countries, António Hou, said that the meeting served as an opportunity for Huawei to present the projects it is developing in Angola in the field of training talent in information technology and artificial intelligence until 2027.


He announced that Huawei intends to build a research and development center by 2027, in addition to developing partnerships with the best universities in the country. According to António Hou, the goal is to strengthen digital inclusion and accelerate the development of strategic sectors such as education, health, and connectivity, promoting equitable access to new technologies. He stressed that his company will continue to contribute to Angola's achievement of universal access to the internet and the benefits of digital transformation.
