Minister of Mines and Energy of Brazil strengthens partnership with Chinese company CATL to expand battery production in Brazil

Recently, Brazil's Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, welcomed representatives from Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL) to Brasília. At the meeting, Silveira highlighted the importance of cooperation with China to boost domestic battery production, strengthen electric mobility, and consolidate Brazil as a global benchmark in renewable energy and storage.


“The partnership with CATL symbolizes the international private sector's confidence in Brazil's energy potential. We want to transform our leadership in clean energy into jobs, income, and innovation for the Brazilian people,” he said during the meeting.


"President Lula's government has an unwavering commitment to a fair, inclusive, and sustainable energy transition. Our effort is to ensure that Brazil continues to lead the world in renewable energy, attracting cutting-edge investments and generating jobs, but always with the environmental responsibility that characterizes our trajectory," concluded Minister Alexandre Silveira.
