Recently, the president of the Brazil-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIBC), Charles Andrew Tang, visited Juiz de Fora to participate in the Brazil-China mission, an initiative aimed at strengthening economic, industrial, and cultural cooperation ties between the two countries.
In a recent press conference at City Hall, Charles Andrew Tang highlighted the possibility of formalizing Juiz de Fora as a sister city of a Chinese municipality, which could pave the way for strategic partnerships in the areas of development, innovation, and economic exchange, in addition to enabling the establishment of a multinational company.
“We hope this is the beginning of a new chapter in relations between Juiz de Fora and China,” said City Council President Margarida Salomão. She also stated that Juiz de Fora is the first city in Minas Gerais with which he is seeking such a partnership and that there are two Chinese municipalities that could sign this agreement.
