The government of Goiás, through the State Secretariat for Technology and Innovation (Secti), is expanding cooperation with China in the area of technological innovation and artificial intelligence. In an interview with TV Brasil Central, the head of the Goiás Government’s International Affairs Office, Giordano Souza, pointed out that the state has pioneering work in the area of innovation.
The undersecretary of Secti, Raphael dos Santos, said that Goiás has the main Center of Excellence and Artificial Intelligence in Latin America (Ceia-UFG) and that this favors partnerships with the Chinese, not least because of the BRICS. “We mapped the innovation ecosystem in Goiás and presented its version in Mandarin in China, arousing the interest of Chinese innovation players,” he said.
The director of Ceia-UFG, Arlindo Galvão, emphasized that China is a partner with the potential to go even further in innovative solutions. “We’ve also welcomed big names in innovation from that country and ambassadors to Goiás, strengthening the relationship and validating technologies. The goal is to consolidate a district, a city of innovation in Goiás,” he said.
