The Chinese chain Mellower Coffee has captured global attention with a creation: Sweet Little Rain. Although Mellower Coffee has permanently closed its operations in China and Vietnam, Sweet Little Rain remains a success and has just arrived in Portugal through Delta’s coffee houses in Porto and Lisbon.

This innovation is part of the Wonder Coffees collection, which has been available since June. Influencer Carina Caldeira has already tested the novelty and highlighted on social media the “literally sweet” experience and the “unexpected and impossible to ignore” look. The Portuguese version features a small cloud of cotton candy with a cappuccino, priced at eight euros, according to Markeeter.

Since 2015, Sweet Little Rain has been circulating in international publications such as Vice, which included it in a “second wave” of artisanal cafés in Shanghai, selling around 150 units a day. In 2019, the phenomenon went viral on forums such as Reddit, where consumers shared photos and opinions about the drink, which costs between 8 and 9 euros. Now, the Chinese phenomenon is conquering new stages in Portugal, promising to take the coffee experience to another level - literally.
