The Federal Government has taken another step towards modernising the country's transport infrastructure. Recently, the Ministry of Transport, through Infra S.A., signed a memorandum of understanding with the China Railway of Economic and planning Research of the China State Railway Group, providing for joint studies to assess the feasibility of a new bi-oceanic railway corridor that will link Brazil to the Pacific Ocean via the Port of Chancay, in Peru.
During the ceremony, the National Secretary for Railway Transport, Leonardo Ribeiro, emphasised that the signing of this document marks a milestone in cooperation between Brazil and China in the railway sector. This is the first step in a journey aimed at bringing continents closer together, shortening distances, and strengthening ties between nations that share a long-term vision.
The project also considers integration with other modes of transport, such as highways and waterways, with the objective of consolidating a sustainable, integrated logistics network connected to the main global trade corridors.
