With the aim of opening new opportunities for Brazil and learning from the practices that made China the world's leading footwear power, the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Artefacts (Assintecal) is organizing a mission to the Asian giant from September 1 to 12.

Assintecal’s International Market Manager, Luiz Ribas Júnior, says the mission to China will include visits to companies in the cities of Shanghai, Quanzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Foshan, as well as to the All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE), one of the world's largest trade fairs for components and chemicals.According to him, the current expansion of the supply chain, with China playing a leading role, offers an opportunity to transform Brazil's footwear industry by strengthening its brand reputation and supporting global expansion.

“We should seiz e the opportunities for Brazilian components, not only due to the growth of that market but also because of the increasing focus on sustainability attributes,” said the manager, noting that China plans to develop a modern bio-manufacturing industry with a production value exceeding USD 140 billion, opening new horizons for bilateral cooperation in the fields of eco-friendly materials and technological innovation.
