According to Metro's latest development report, the fourteenth train in a batch of 19 monorail units is currently being assembled in China. The train, identified as S41, is being produced in a factory operated through a joint venture between CRRC and Alstom.
The 19 new trainsets for Line 15-Silver are being manufactured in the city of Wuhu in China. The model is the Innovia 300, the same as the 27 previous trains, originally produced by Bombardier, which are currently in operation. Since 2021, with the acquisition of the Canadian company, Alstom has been responsible for the project, taking over the manufacture and development of the vehicles.
Each car, once completed, is transported from Wuhu to Shanghai. In Shanghai, the cars are loaded onto ships bound for Brazil, on a journey of around 60 days to the Port of Santos. In a straight line, the journey is equivalent to more than 18,000 kilometers.
