The Port of Aveiro recently welcomed the 36-meter wide SHUN XIN HE XIE, making it the largest ship in terms of cross-sectional size to dock at this port infrastructure. Coming from China and with a previous stopover in Spain, this was also the first time the vessel had operated in European territory.
The operation was promoted by CS Wind Portugal. Throughout the morning, the SHUN XIN HE XIE remained moored at the Port of Aveiro for an exclusively technical operation, without carrying any cargo.
CS Wind Portugal plans to build a new manufacturing unit dedicated to structures for the offshore wind industry. This will require the use of large capacity ships and the main aim of the operation was to assess the port's technical capacity to receive large ships.
