Mozambique and China expressed their interest on May 26 in strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the sectors of industry and trade.
This intention was expressed during a meeting that the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Maria Lucas, held with the Special Representative for African Affairs of the People's Republic of China, Liu Yuxi, who is in Mozambique for a three-day visit.
In addition to exchanging views on increasing bilateral cooperation in the areas of industry and trade, both welcomed the excellent Sino-Mozambican relations, with a visible impact on the continuous strengthening of political, economic and social exchanges.
According to the head of Mozambican diplomacy, Maria Lucas, Mozambican President Daniel Chapo is already preparing a visit for 2026.
The minister also acknowledged the continuous support that China has provided to Mozambique in various sectors, with emphasis on humanitarian assistance, food security, and infrastructure.
