Speaking to the press after a meeting with the President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, which marked the end of his diplomatic term that began in 2020, China's ambassador to Mozambique, Wang Hejun, announced on April 30 that Chinese investments in the country currently amount to $9.5 billion (608 billion meticais), the result of bilateral cooperation that has been consolidating in recent years.

The ambassador highlighted flagship projects that testify to the strength of the partnership between the two countries. Among them, he mentioned the construction of the Maputo-Katembe bridge, the buildings of the Presidency of the Republic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, among other major infrastructure projects.

“Cooperation between China and Mozambique has yielded concrete and visible results. We are willing to further strengthen this relationship, especially in the agriculture, industry, and infrastructure sectors,” said the diplomat.
