What is currently the most powerful electric vehicle charging hub in Portugal has opened in Odivelas. It is the result of a partnership between Iberdrola and BP Pulse, which provides stations capable of delivering up to an impressive 400 kW.
And to mark the start of this new infrastructure, the car brand chosen to demonstrate the ultra-fast charging capabilities was the Chinese Xpeng. The star of the demonstration was the Xpeng G9. It is equipped with an 800-volt electrical architecture. In practice, the G9 can handle direct current (DC) charging powers of up to 300 kW.
Xpeng said in a statement that it equips its vehicles with charging systems that are ready for the future of infrastructure. Rafael Monteiro, COO of Xpeng in Portugal, emphasized precisely this, saying that these new ultra-fast hubs are seen as very positive because they allow the brand's customers to finally enjoy all the charging features that their cars offer.
