On April 21 in São Paulo, the Council of Coffee Exporters of Brazil (Cecafé) received a delegation from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC), led by Minister Lyu Weihong, to discuss trade opportunities and present the current scenario of Brazilian coffee growing. The meeting reinforces Brazil's position as a reliable and sustainable supplier in an increasingly demanding global market.
During an interview with Canal Rural, Cecafé's director general, Marcos Matos, highlighted China's growing role as a strategic destination for Brazilian coffee. According to him, the Asian country is currently one of the sector's biggest expansion targets, both in terms of volume and added value.
"Brazil is preparing to meet the new demands of the international market, especially in relation to sustainability, traceability and food safety," said Matos.
