The Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, leaves for China on April 17 on a strategic mission: to expand business and attract Chinese investment to Brazil.

According to CNN, in addition to seeking partnerships in the energy sector, the government's strategy includes meetings with companies that already buy Brazilian iron ore, with the aim of expanding the presence of these industries in the country, bringing steel and aluminum processing plants to add value to what is currently exported in its raw state. The idea is to strengthen the national steel industry.

In the energy sector, Silveira has scheduled meetings with Chinese technology giant Huawei, where announcements are expected on investments in batteries for the electrical system and data centers.

The agenda also includes talks with state-owned CGN to diversify Brazil's nuclear matrix, as well as discussions on electric vehicles and batteries.
